One-Minute Writing of the Day:

"If everyone had grown up the way I did, this world would be....full of half finished projects."
Imagine the sculptor for the presidents on Mt. Rushmore, he would have sculpted only one president and then quit.
Congratulations, H.K.! Fun example of a half-finished project...and I'm sure the tourist industry in South Dakota is glad that sculptor didn't grow up in that way!
I am so excited!

If everyone had grown up the way I did, this world would be more cynical, less trusting. More sleepy, less noisy. More vanilla, less obnoxious.
On the flipside, the world would also be more self-sufficient, less entitled. More measured, less reckless. More responsible, less shirking in duty.
If everyone had grown up the way i did, this world would be smiling, while at the same time, wondering what in the hell is the matter with all these people.
If everyone had grown up the way I did, this world would be just as whacky but a lot less fearful.
If everyone had grown up the way I did,the world would be quiet, composed, fragile.
There would be less killing, outward at least.
There would be more successful people, less drugs, alcohol, and smoking.
There would be less Catholic haters, but then again
There'd be too many people like me.
"If everyone had grown up the way I did, this world would be..."
just as interesting a place as it is now. We all have different inherent qualities as well as learned behaviors and each of us reacts to circumstances and events differently. I came out of childhood with both strengths and insecurities. Experiences that energized and pushed me could have caused someone with a different disposition grief and anguish. Something that was overwhelming for me may have made another person rise to the challenge. It makes me appreciate the incredible variety of humankind all the more.

"If everyone had grown up the way I did, this world would be....
."full of people with values like compassion, kindness and love, who will endure patience and cope the complications and challenges of life with a non judgemental attitude.
Well, we probably would have invaded Canada in a fit of pique over the whole gravy on french fries thing. We'd most likely be living in the American Empire. There would be more brighter lines and less gray areas. We'd be more polite, more respectful, more civil, more compassionate - but also more quick tempered, more prone to black & white thinking. So, its probably a good thing the world didn't. We are the product of our environments.
if everyone grew up the way i did...the world would be more structured. but simple. loving. nosey. & based on the word of God.
If everyone grew up the way I did, this world would be...
heavily medicated and replete with therapists to help all of us deal with our childhoods.
The untreated would be lying around, curled in a fetal position, or else out making poor life choices.
The treated would just get over themselves and learn how to experience joy in the ordinary.
And there would be ceremonial burnings of 'Mommie Dearest'.
If everyone grew up the way I did, the world would be filled with people trying to keep everything neat and tidy, peaceful and organized, calm and quiet, and, above all, normal, in a constant effort to make their lives the opposite of what they had lived. The world would also be filled with parents who are determined to make their children feel loved, encouraged, and confident.
I was little for a short while
It seems like a long time ago
Five was my favorite age
Little
I liked it
Little
It was such a fun time
Colors
I loved them
They always made me happy
Little
People looked down and I looked up
But they smiled
And I thought about when I would be big like them
And....
If everyone had grown up the way I did, this world would be very different
Why do I think that?
Because I had parents who loved me very much.
They were fun
They were nice
I had a happy family
I had a happy childhood
I was encouraged to do things that were different and creative
I was encouraged to be my best...
If everyone had grown up the way I did, this world would be less likely to complain about the state it is in now, and more likely to try and improve itself.
If everyone had grown up the way I did, this world would be all Catholic believers, Republicans, and really very quiet.
If everyone had grown up the way I did, this world would be inhabited by patient people. Since everybody is towards achieving both personal and company goals, the world will be highly organized.
If everyone had grown up the way I did, this world would be a much better place. I was brought up with a lot of love and laughter. When I asked my cousins what they remember most about growing up, the single most reported answer was love and the second most reported was laughing. Can you imagine that? A happy world?
Pretty ahem-up
that said, most of the people on here chatting about God, well, that wouldn't have happened. The people on here who do not understand how to speak properly, well, that wouldn't have happened. The people on here who don't understand how to format paragraphs, well, that obviously would still have happened.
If everyone had grown up the way I did, this world would be...
SO MUCH HAPPIER!!! Everyone would have WONDERFUL childhood memories of a stable upbringing; good ethics of every kind; and lots of love, laughs, and hugs!!
Full of writers, thinkers, and musicians.
For some resons, when asked to write about childhood all my memories were summer ones. Walking to the creek, catching tadpoles and horny toads...where did those little creatures go?
One of my most traumatic and memorable childhood memories concerns a duvet cover......My cousin and I aged 5, decided to play inside one. Fun, until we realised we were trapped and there was no escape! Panicked we shouted loudly for what seemed like an eternity. Thankfully me sister heard us shout and rescued us…….My Saviour!
If the world had grown up like I did, there would be a strong sense of Family. Which in turn would make the world more connected, more caring, more accepting.

Imagine the sculptor for the presidents on Mt. Rushmore, he would have sculpted only one president and then quit.
If every one grew up the way I did the world would move a little slower with a Northern Carolina sweet Hawaiian aloha sun drenched barefoot in the grass or sand, daisy chain, muu muu kind of sensibility. An attitude of gratitude where there's always a rainbow behind every rain shower.
A place where kids run barefoot, and swing from an old tire tree, and grandma threatens to smack you with a switch for misbehaving while serviing up a huge slice of apple cobbler all in one conversation!
My post might not be considered Family Friendly so I didn't want to post it here. I love this writing prompt, I can't wait to go back in the archives, I hope that's okay! Here's my response to this prompt:

IF everyone grew up the way I did...there would be a lot more people split between the real world and an imaginary happy place with sunshine and rainbows and pink-nosed bunny rabbits.
If everyone had grown up the way I did, this world would be full of people rushing because they were late and the restaurants would be overcrowded at breakfast time as we all lingered over coffee talking and joking.
