How it works

Who's got the time to journal daily? You do.

1. Read the daily writing prompt.
2. Push "Play" on the timer on the right side of the screen.
3. Spend 60 seconds or less writing a response to the daily prompt.

You may respond in the "Comments" section of each post, if your response is family-friendly. Or you can use your word processor, or an old-fashioned pen and paper. It's up to you. Also feel free to use the "Comments" section for informal discussion about the responses that are posted.

If the daily prompt inspires you to write something on your own blog or website, please link back to this site.

Today, take a minute to write!

Today's Writing Prompt: Independence

Today what would you like to declare your independence from?

One-Minute Writing of the Day:
Writer: Cynthia L.H.

The "inner editor":
"Do you think you should?" "Do you think you shouldn't?"
"Do you think you can?"
"Is this alright?"
"Is that alright?"
"Is this good enough?"
"Is this better?"
"Don't you think this would be better?"

Oh, just HUSH already!!!
ENJOY!!!

Congratulations on the win, Cynthia L.H.! You did a great job describing the anxiety of self-editing. Feel free to put a One-Minute Writer WINNER! button on your blog!

My mouth. By being more careful and let my yeah be yeah and my nay be nay, and leave out the stuff that should never be said.

My luck! The only thing that came across my mind since yesteryear was my luck in everything inclusive my job interviews which never had the chance to go through for the second chance. (finger crossed for the next one)

Critisism.
"Why don't you do it this way?"
"It will be better this way."
"Do that." "No, not like that."
"This way." "No that way."

Others try to tell me what to do, I contradict myself, a persons worst critic is themselves. It's all too true.

Conventional norms. Perhaps then I'd be less mediocre, and I could eventually become the person I'd always hoped I would be.

I declare, I don't need to please
I'm working hard at just being me
So, today's the day, I must declare
It's time I dole out peace to share

I am declaring to be more myself and not care what others think.

Happy 4th!!
