Write a brief bit of fiction using the prompt, "Transfer."
Friday Fiction is your opportunity to write a short (short, short, short) story. Many participants use more than one minute for Friday Fiction prompts, and I don't generally take the length of the post into account when I name a Friday winner.
Click on the "Friday Fiction" tag beneath the post to see more examples of Friday Fiction writings.
If you respond to this prompt on your blog or website, be sure to visit the Weekly Mister Linky so others can easily click on your link!
One-Minute Writing of the Day:
Writer: Lilly
The phone rings. I check the caller ID. It is ex-boyfriend. I let it ring a few more times before I answer.
"Hi," I say. "What's up?"
"I'm getting a transfer. Work is sending me to Melbourne. Guess what buddy. We're going to be neighbours again."
Just when I thought life was getting back to normal.
Congratulations on the win, Lilly! I didn't know this would be a horror story...(ha ha.) Feel free to put a One-Minute Writer WINNER! button on your blog.

Millie followed Viviana onto the bus. She marveled at her tiny waistline and cherry painted toes. "Let's sit over here," Viviana said.Millie dutifully followed.
"Are you sure Melissa won't mind if I come to the party with you?" Millie was hesitant. She pushed up her glasses with her pointer finger. "I don't want to impose."
"Please! It'll be great fun...Oh crap! Did you get a transfer when you got on the bus?"
"No. What is that?"
Viviana snorted. "You poor sheltered child. Stick with me, kid. I have a lot to teach you."
