Today's Writing Prompt: Apocalypse
So, I guess the world didn't end yesterday. Supposing the world DID end. How do you think that would happen?

The world did not end yesterday, but it could have. Consider all of the earthquake activity we have had lately. The volcanoes all over earth could have erupted in response to the planetary alignment and covered our planet in molten lava. It would have been the end of civilization as we know it.
Actually, the world did end yesterday. Briefly. Right after my favorite barista advised me that my favorite blend was unavailable until later that afternoon. So, for about three hours...
I am eternally optimistic. I just can' t help it. Apocolypse will be a lovely experience.
Personally I think the end will come gently. We will just drift off...
The Mayans (in Guatamala and elsewhere where Mayans still live) celebrated the beginning of a new era. We so called first world people are largely irrational and badly educated about physics, mathematics and history. The ecology of the world is in bad shape, species die off little by little, painfully. It's happened to thousands of species, it could eventually happen to humans, but neither in a big bang, nor fire nor ice. Hang in there and educate yourself.
I think that the only possibility for our world to end, i.e., earth being bestroyed, is to come from the space as a meteor or maybe some exploding star. Something like that; I'm not a scientist;)Otherwise, I think that earth has a way of working it's way out and, with or without us, it will continue to exist.
the world will end on the day that i decide not to do this anymore. i've been doing it for as long as anyone can remember and i've been wondering about what might happen when i decide not to do it any more for about 6 months now
