How it works
Who's got the time to journal daily? You do.
1. Read the daily writing prompt.
2. Push "Play" on the timer on the right side of the screen.
3. Spend 60 seconds or less writing a response to the daily prompt.
You may respond in the "Comments" section of each post, if your response is family-friendly. Or you can write in your own journal or blog. If you respond in a public blog post, post the link in the comments and share it with us. Also feel free to use the "Comments" section for informal discussion about the responses that are posted.
Today, take a minute to write!

I'll 'fess up: I never turn on the timer. I just write until I've said what I want to say and then I stop and then I probably re-read and fix mistakes, but sometimes I don't re-read. I like putting brain and fingers in first gear and writing a little bit in between checking my email and the blogs. Sometimes I have nothing to say so I don't write anything, sometimes I don't like the prompts so I don't say anything and this is surely more than one minute so I'll stop.
PS - I hate the anti-robot thing, especially the hidden numbers.
I don't have school tomorrow- Thank you presidents! It is president's day... right? All that's on my mind is the movie that I watched last night- The Heathers...
Like June, I don't use the timer. I prefer to think about what I'm going to say for about 5 minutes, then sprint-write, looking at my watch before I start.
Sometimes I'm over a minute, sometimes under. But I really enjoy the idea of writing daily for a "minute".
Would be interested in hearing how others feel about The One-Minute Writer prompts. That's what's on my mind today.
Today I am going insane because of the clutter in my house! Piles of JUNK everywhere! Useless, useless crap. But heaven forbid I suggest getting rid of any of it! Arrrrgh. Maybe it is because it's so bloody cold right now (forecast HIGH for the next three days: -5*) and no one can leave the house, we're all cooped up with it.
Usually I get annoyed that my family (who are wonderful and I do love them!) never swings by TOMW, but I suppose once in a while it makes for a good venting outlet!
Yesterday, I've met a guy in a bar, more or less my age, who claimed to be a writer. We talked for about half an hour and during this short conversation he managed to unfold the whole pathetic plot of his life including amphetamine, lsd, and alcohol abuse, how he played in a band, started to write and how good he was at writing. So I asked the poor little fellow how long does he do it and he answered 'two months'.
On top of that, he spoke so loudly that half of the people in the bar heard him and they were just shaking their heads in disbelief.
I couldn't take it anymore so I left. On my wah home, I couldn't stop wondering that such a guy even existed and I was sure that I will never touch drugs. Ever.
I can only think about how cold I am. My old house is not keeping out the sub zero temps. Our entire region is closed down. Schools etc. Frostbite warnings. My furnace went out! Hot coffee, blankets and soup...
