Today's Writing Prompt: Exercise
Many people will be trying to improve their health by exercising more in the new year. What is the most fun you've ever had while exercising? Going for a run with that cute girl down the street? The day you learned to windsurf? A basketball game with friends?

Growing up, I lived by the ocean. Especially as a teenager I have many fond memories of spending all day in the sea, bodysurfing or just swimming with friends and salt spray and diving under the waves. Now I live in the center of the country and I am ALL about the snow sports. Especially XC skiing! We have a local park, several hundred acres large, which maintains lighted, groomed ski trails open late nights all winter. It is SO cool to go out in the woods in the beauty and quiet and see foxes, deer, and owls. Intensely fun!
I did not think of trekking in the Himalayas as exercise although it certainly was. And "fun" is a childish and tame word for the joy and sense of accomplishment that was almost constant -- even when huffing and putting up to a pass.
Exercise? Fun? The only thing that comes to mind is when I was a child. I used to ride my bike around the block at break-neck speed, especially when it came to the corner where the local bar was located. I was definitely not anxious to be stopped at that corner.
I also remember roller skating on the side walk outside my house. Do kids do that these days? Or are they too wii bound?
Once, I exercised my 5th Amendment Right Against Self-Incrimination. That was fun while it lasted, but then the old man got home and beat a confession out of me, serously jeopardizing not only my health, but my very life.
I have not exercised anything since then.
The most fun I ever had while exercising was every time I finished a running race. The moment of reaching the finishing line gives you so much satisfaction that I would even say that these were one of the few moments in my life when I was truly happy:)
i did some triathlons between 2003 and 2005, and i think it was after i'd done a few, when i knew what i was doing, that i had a great and fun time in at least one of my races. i was lucky that nothing went wrong (when there are so many variables in a race, chances are greater that something might go awry) and had an absolute blast. i felt good about my "weak" swimming, i made up for lost time on the bike, and then i breezed along happily while in my element on the run. a strong finish! extra big smiles that day.
My daughter and I were on a snorkel charter near Roatan, Honduras. Our guide, Juan, asked us to choose either beginner or advanced snorkeling.
Then in a flash, Juan shouted, "Advanced snorkelers follow me...try to keep up." Then
he was off, swimming with the strong stroke of a pro.
We swam like our lives depended on it, I'd say for more than a mile, before we reached the most amazing reef I've ever seen.
We spent the next hour exercising in paradise amongst colorful parrot fish, angelfish, barracuda, moray eels, and more.
I wasn't able to accomplish much in one minute, but I liked your prompt so much I made a blog post of it. Thanks and Happy New Year!
Fun and exercising dont initially come to me in the same thought; however thinking more about it I remember when I bought my family a Wii for Christmas and we actually had a lot of fun with the sports games. Tennis was my favorite and with all of my family being very competitive each of us would give it our all when competing against each other. I have searched for a couple of years for ways to have fun while exercising because I have come to the conclusion this is the only full proof way I will consistently exercise.
Here is the blog link for my writing prompt response!! I enjoyed reading everyone's responses!! Have a great day!!

I went horseback riding on a challenging trail. Bart, a dressage trained Morgan, was my mount. He made me look like a much more accomplished rider than I really am. He responded to my every command. The scenery was beautiful. So much fun!
Exercise is very good and the best method for maintaining good health. It helps in increasing immunity and concentration power.
