I believe in Angels
I have met them
you see...
Oh not the
Judeo-Christian halo and feathers
and wishes to Heaven type...
And although a few were Christians
many were Buddhist
One a Muslim
Several were Hindu...
Being an Angel has much
less to do with
what religion you ARE
and EVERYTHING to do
With what you
DO...
And yes...
I believe in Angels.
I've met quite a few.
I don't believe in angels. But I do believe in good, helpful and compassionate human beings. It's really good to see that they still exist in today's world. I call such human beings angels. Yeah, I've encountered many of them in my life. And I am thankful to them for the small favours they've done to me. :)
Angels, yes I believe in them. I don’t know for sure if I have encountered one. Once when my daughter was small, I saw a man with a suitcase hitching a ride. He was just walking along the road carrying a case that was obviously light. He looked different, like I could trust him. Anyway, after we went where we were going and were travelling back home, we saw this same person who by foot could not have walked as far as he did. Was it an angel? This angel didn’t have wings, but seemed to have a knowing about him. If I hadn’t had my daughter with me, I might have given him a ride.
When I was a college student, I once crashed my car pretty severely up against the freeway median in a rainstorm. I remember flipping up in the air, and this moment where I was airborne pointed down at oncoming traffic and knew I was going to die. I didn't die, but I did crush both my driver's side wheels.
After the accident I didn't know what to do. A kind man with a beard, in an old green volkswagon stopped. He pushed my car out of traffic, got me out of the rain, and somehow used my spare and his jack to fix my tires. Then he motioned for me to get back in my own car.
He looked me intently in the eye and said, "Don't be afraid. There's a car repair place 2 miles down the road at the next exit. Drive slowly, I'll follow you and make sure you get there safely. You're OK."
I nodded, thanked him, and started my car up. Looked in my rearview mirror to pull out... and there was not a soul behind me. The volkswagon was gone. The man was gone. The stretch of road we were on was deserted. Just me and the rain.
I did drive on and 2 miles down the road, just like he said, was a car repair place. They were amazed my car made it with the damage it had. I got it fixed and made it home to my parents a changed and grateful person.
I do believe. Somehow I feel her (my angel) so closely I am comforted by her presence. At odd times through my life I come across a perfect white feather in a place where I need her to be...
Angels and Dodgers and Padres, oh my!
