Today's writing prompt: Old T-shirt

Tell me about your favorite old T-shirt. One that has a memory associated with it maybe!

Okay, I never had any favourite t-shirt as such but the first image that popped out in my mind after reading this prompt was the a light grey t-shirt that had cartoon characters Tom and Jerry on it. It was a very cute t-shirt which I matched with a pair of green shorts. I loved Tom and Jerry a lot as a kid and hence I loved wearing that t-shirt too. :)

I think I bought it in college, although so many years have passed I have no idea where or when I really got my t-shirt now. It's purple, my favorite color. After two decades of use it is utterly shapeless and has a few holes, but it's as soft as my own skin. What makes it so special to me? Beyond having owned it for about forever, I wore that tshirt when I birthed my two daughters. So every time I pull it out to paint a room or dig in the garden, I remember how it felt to hold their squirming, slippery bodies for the first time.

I have a sleeveless t-shirt with a picture of an Adirondack chair nestled in flowers on it. It is pale gray now, almost white with a few holes in it. I can't get rid of it. I still wear it to paint or garden when it is warm. I love the picture. It is the chair I always think of when I need a place to sit in my happy place in my head...
