Today's Writing Prompt: Organ Donor
Are you an organ donor? (If you are underage or otherwise can't donate, would you chose to donate if you could?) How would you feel about accepting someone else's organ if you needed it?

My father has signed up for eye donation. I also wanted to do it but then I thought I should donate my body when I'll die. May be I will do it.
Oh I forgot to answer 2nd question. I'd be happy and thankful if I got someone's organ if I needed it. :)
I am an organ donor. This despite the feeling of betrayal my whole family had when, at my father's death, the hospital asked for his corneas and we consented but were later informed that they were "harvesting" skin and bone. But after thinking about it and knowing several people who have had transplants which extended their lives, sometimes just a little, sometimes to a normal length I decided that if the parts of "my" body, which I am no longer occupying can do anyone any good, that's a wonderful gift to give. As an old person and new student, aiming to go into nursing I took an anatomy class and came to a further decision to donate my body for educational purposes if it's not suitable for anything else after seeing what i learned from the cadavers. Yes, there's emotion attached to that. When I was working with the cadavers I thought a lot about what their lives were like. We were told a little bit about each of them and then you do learn things by exploring their bodies. But to me, the value of that learning far exceeds the bit of discomfort I feel about being cut up and examined.
I don’t think I’m an organ donor, but I should be. Is it a realistic fear to believe that no extraordinary measures will be taken to sustain my life if “organ donor” is on my driver’s license? I suspect that’s just a good, old wives' tale. I know enough from Grey’s Anatomy and ER that the body needs to be maintained in order to harvest organs. As an adult I also understand the Hippocratic oath and believe doctors would not kill me to take my organs for someone else. If my organs are no use to me, I’d love for them to help one or more people. By checking Yes to organ donor, God has the opportunity to use me on this earth once my spirit has joined Him in Heaven. I’ll be checking yes.
I am a donor! I hope that when i die, my life can be given to someone else for theirs. who knows it might be one of my own kids!
I am an organ donor against my family's wishes. When my time on Earth is over, if being an organ donor can give someone even one more day with their loved ones then it is my honor to do so.
I would be humbled and appreciative beyond words to accept another person's organ if I needed it.
